
Golden Vegan Apple Crumble Bake
Buttery-crisp oat crumble over tender Bramley apples—simple, cozy, and dairy-free. Serve warm with vegan cream or custard for extra indulgence.
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the apples and dish
Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Toss the sliced apples with the sugar for the filling, then spread into a 9in (23cm) round baking dish at least 2in (5cm) deep, or an 8in (20cm) square dish. Press down lightly.
Step 2: Make the crumble
In a bowl, mix the flour and sugar for the topping. Add the dairy-free spread and rub in with your fingertips until it resembles moist breadcrumbs.
Step 3: Top and finish the crumble
Tip the crumble over the apples, mounding in the center. Use a fork to level, gently press so it holds together, then lightly drag the fork across the surface. Sprinkle the oats and demerara sugar evenly on top.
Step 4: Bake
Set the dish on a baking tray and bake 35–40 minutes, until the top is golden and a small knife slides into the apples with no resistance. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
